Detailed tour through eastern Georgia and mountain regions: Mtskheta, Kazbegi, Uplistsikhe, Gori, Ateni, Kareli, Kintsvisi, Bakuriani, Tanatskuri lake, Vardzia, Khertvisi castle, Rabati castle, Borjomi, Abastumani, Sairme, Prometeus cave and Kutaisi. The tour includes accommodation, transportation, guiding, training and airport transfers.

Day 1

Arrival to Tbilisi International Airport. Transfer to hotel. Staying in Tbilisi.

Day 2

Mtskheta and Tbilisi Surroundings.

Briefing before the trip, handing over jeeps. The group will head to Trialeti Mountain Range. Didgori Battle Site. Arrival to Mtskheta, visiting Svetitskhoveli cathedral (Living pillar cathedral) dating back from first Christian period. Staying in hotel in Mtskheta.

Day 3

Ananuri - Kazbegi – Gergeti Trinity Church.

The first stop is Jinvali water reservoir and Ananuri fortress. This medieval complex was a castle of eristavi (dukes) of Aragvi region. Then you get to Jvari (Cross) pass situated at a height of 2379 meters from where you can admire fascinating views on Caucasus. Soon the road enters Kazbegi. The main attraction point in Kazbegi is Gergeti Trinity Church located on the top of the mountain at the elevation of 2170 meters. Staying in Kazbegi.

Day 4

Uplistsikhe – Ateni Valley – Gori Castle

Arriving to Uplistikhe, ancient rock cave town. Then, you will visit Ateni valley where is located Gori castle, one of the most important fortresses of medieval Georgia. Staying in Gori.

Day 5

Kareli – Kintsvisi – Gujareti – Bakuriani

Kintsvisi monastery consists of three churches built in Golden age of Georgia – 13th century.  After visiting Kintvisi monastery, you begin a long journey through valleys and forests. On the way there are several nunneries, spots of untouched nature and fascinating views. Soon the road will pass by Borjomi-Kharagauli national park. By the evening, you will be in Bakuriani. Staying in Bakuriani.

Day 6

Lake Tabatskuri – Vardzia – Khertvisi fortress – Rabati castle – Borjomi

The road continues through forests and reaches Tabatskuri lake. The lake is on the elevation of 1991 meters above sea level. Next, you will come to Vardzia monastery, cave complex which has more than 3000 rock-hewn cells. Then, you will visit Kertvisi fortress built in 2nd century BC. Finally, the road goes though rocky valleys to Akhaltsikhe where is located Rabati castle. Staying in Akhaltsikhe.

Day 7

Abastumani Observatory – Sairme – Prometheus Cave

First destination is Abastumani located on southern slopes of lesser Caucasus. Next is Sairme mineral water resort. Finally, you will see Prometheus cave, long of 1420 meters with incredible stalactites and stalagmites. Staying in Kutaisi.

Day 8 

Journey to Tbilisi – Wine Tasting - Gallery-Airport.

Arrival to Tbilisi. Visiting Wine Gallery and tasting of ancient Georgian wines. Free time. Transfer to Tbilisi International airport.
