From Tbilisi, actual capital of Georgia, you go to the historical heart of the country, its first capital and the most ancient town – Mtskheta.  You will visit Svetitskhoveli cathedral, constructed in 11th century on the place of the first Christian church of Georgia. Next stop is Samtavro monastery from where the road goes deep to river Mtkvary valley. You will be able to see old fortresses watching over the valley and finally you will come to Shio Mghvime Monastery founded in 560 by saint Shio. 

9:00 – 10:00: short briefing and starting trip to Mtskheta.

11:00: arrival to Mtskheta, visiting Svetitskhoveli cathedral.

12:00: Samtavro monastery.

13:45: Shio Mghvime monastery.

16:00: return to Tbilisi.
